John Robert Hall, Sr.

John Robert Hall Sr., known affectionately as "Johnny" to those who knew him, passed away on September 2, 2024, at his home in Gastonia, NC. Born in North Carolina on May 3, 1940, Johnny was a proud Army veteran.

Johnny was a dedicated maintenance worker at Gaston Memorial Hospital for over twenty-five years, always ensuring that the hospital ran smoothly. His dedication to his job was matched only by his love for his grandchildren, whom he adored and cherished. When not working or spending time with his family, Johnny could often be found enjoying his favorite treat at Tony's Ice Cream or planning a camping trip with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife Kay Hall; son, John Robert Hall, Jr., grandchildren, Travis Hall (Amanda), John Hall, III (Tiffany), Jason Hall (Spencer) and Jennifer Hall; sister, Pat Hall; nieces and nephews. Johnny's final wishes were to be cremated, with a private ceremony to be held by his family. Johnny will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him, but his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. May he rest in peace.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Grace Hall; son, Bryant Hall; brother, Dean Hall; sisters, Barbara Brown and Linda Blanton.
