John W. Foster, Jr.

Hartsville, SC - John W. Foster, Jr., 86, died Monday, May 18, 2015. He was born in Kings Mountain, the son of the late John William and Stella Ethel McIntire Foster. He was retired from the US Army and was a contract worker for Duke Energy power plants. John was a godly man and loved to fish. Surviving are his wife of 26 years, Maxine Huitt Foster of Hartsville, SC; sons, Steve Henson of Statesville, NC, Ronnie Henson of Gastonia, NC; daughters, Anne (Mackie) Martin of Lowell, NC, Janie Rockholt of Gastonia, NC, Robin (Kevin) Gray of Hartsville, SC; sisters, Shirley Sipe of Gastonia, NC, Martha Adams of Kings Mountain, NC. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Betty Berry and Dorothy Hullender. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Friday at Greene Funeral Service - 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by Pastor Mike Rice. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain.
