John Garland Edwards

(September 26, 1933 – May 22, 2016)

John, son of Ralph S. Edwards and Nell F. Edwards, passed away on May 22 at 82 years of age.  He will be remembered as an easy going man who was well liked by everyone fortunate enough to know him.  He served his country well during the Korean War as a US Army Field Medic in a mash unit.  He never talked about his military service, but was proud of it in his own way.  John is survived by a sister Joanne Brotherton of Lucia, brothers Ned and wife Judy of Walhalla, SC, Wayne and wife Ceil of Okatie, SC, Ralph Jr. and wife Carolyn of Raleigh; nieces and nephews Debbie Shapiro, Greg Skidmore,  Shari Skidmore, Heidi Edwards, Heath Edwards and Bill Edwards; cousins and others too numerous to mention.

A memorial service will be held 1:30 pm Wednesday at Hills Chapel UMC, 988 N. Carolina 16 Stanley, NC.

The family will receive friends 1:00 pm prior to the service at the church.
