John "Johnny" Douglas Simpson

Kings Mountain, NC John "Johnny" Douglas Simpson, 70, passed away November 11, 2013, at The Robin Johnson House, Dallas. He was born December 5, 1942 in Mecklenburg County, son of the late Paul Lee Simpson and Novelleu Pugh Simpson. A funeral service will be held 1 pm on Wednesday at Springwood Free Will Baptist Church,officiated by Pastor David Henderson and Rev. Michael Simpson. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 pm on Tuesday at the church. The interment will follow the service on Wednesday at Hillcrest Gardens, Mt. Holly. Mr. Simpson is survived by: his sons and daughters in-law, Johnny Lee and Norma Simpson, Richard and Lisa Simpson, Charles and Dana Simpson, Michael and Lorrie Simpson; daughter, Susan Elizabeth Simpson; brother, Lee Simpson and his wife, Joanne; grandchildren, Aimee, Johnny Jr., Chris, Jessica, Alisha, Tommy, Austin, Ashley, Taylor, Luke, Christina, Steven, Johnboy; eleven great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: his wife, Barbara Ann Simpson; daughter, Sharon Simpson.
