John Edward Christenbury Sr., 94, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at his residence.

He was born in York County, SC on August 20, 1929, to the late John and Liddy Mae Christenbury.

Mr. Christenbury served in the Army National Guard.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his 1st wife, Betty Green Christenbury; 2nd wife, Ruth Wilson Christenbury; daughter in law, Dianne Christenbury; granddaughter, Amanda Christenbury; 13 siblings.

John is survived by his son, John Christenbury Jr; grandchildren, Crystal Gales, Justin Christenbury, step-granddaughter, Amanda Bowen; seven great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild.

A Visitation will be held from 10 – 11:00 AM on Friday, October 20, 2023, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052.

A Graveside Service will be held Friday, October 20, 2023, 11:30 AM, at Woodside Cemetery, 260 Guinn St., Clover, SC 29710.
