John Galen Bush

John Galen Bush, 86, of Gastonia, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2016, at his home.

He was born July 8, 1930, in Pekin, IN, son of the late Oliver Bush and Jessie Lovell Bush.

John was a US Navy Veteran and served in the Korean War. He was a member of First Assembly of God in Gastonia.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Thelma Colwell Bush; children, Dita Lubera and husband, Willie, Patricia Sheegog, J.D. Bush and wife, Gwen; grandchildren, Shawne Moniz, Tricia Carter, Libbie Lubera, Yvonne Copler, Marty J. Sheegog, Jessica Isaacs, and Lauren Thomas; 7 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great granddaughter.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Derrick Huff.

A funeral service will be held 1:00pm on Thursday at the First Assembly of God, 777 S Myrtle School Rd, Gastonia. Pastors Denis Boyce and Lamar Creel and the Rev. James Colwell will be officiating.

The family will receive friends 11:30-12:45pm before the service at the church.

Interment will be held at Gaston Memorial Park.
