John Albert Burch, Jr.

John Albert Burch, Jr., 79, of Clover, SC, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Caromont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia.

He was born July 11, 1943, in Gaston Co, NC, son of the late John Albert Burch, Sr., and Clifford McAbee Burch.

John retired from Pharr Yarns. He drove EC School bus in Clover, SC, for 5 years, and was a proud Shriner, Hillbilly, and member of Mason Lodge, Clover, SC.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Joyce Berryhill and Delores Hoyle (Thomas); brother, Joe Burch; and son, John A. Burch, III.

John is survived by his loving wife, Lavena Martin Burch; brother, Gene Burch (Sherry); daughter, Heather Chapman; daughter-in-law, Katie Burch; step sons, Mike (April), Josh (Melissa), and Tim (Michelle); grandkids, Brandon, Benjamin, Billy, Jacob, Brittany, Nathan, Ashton, Darian, and Tammy Hass; 7 great-grandkids; nephew whom he loved like a son, Gene Burch, Jr.; niece whom he loved like a daughter, Kim Bower (Kenny); his dear best friend whom he loved like a brother, Buck Trimmell, and his dear best friend whom he loved like a son, Buck Jr.

A funeral service officiated by Pastor Scott Rudisill, will be held 2pm, Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Westview Baptist Church - 3385 Fairview Dr, Gastonia, NC 28052.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial will follow the service at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to, Westview Baptist Church.
