John Marvin Bredimus Jr., a highly decorated Army veteran and beloved truck driver, passed away on March 6, 2025, in Gastonia, North Carolina. He was born on October 16, 1948, in Mecklenburg County, NC, and spent his life serving both his country and his community.
John proudly served in the United States Army from January 18, 1969, until his discharge on December 22, 1971, achieving the rank of E-5. His commitment to service and his dedication to his fellow soldiers earned him numerous accolades during his military career. Later in life he became a long-haul truck driver, embracing the open road and the adventures that came with it.
He is survived by his loving sister, Myrtha Sumrall (Tony), who cherished their bond and shared countless memories with him. John was also a devoted dog owner, sharing his life with his beloved companions, Hannah, Bobo, and Rocky, who brought him much joy and companionship.
John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lida Bredimus; brother, Tommy Bredimus.
All of John's service will be private.
John Marvin Bredimus Jr. will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those he touched throughout his life.
