Joe Moffitt, 81, of Dallas, passed away on Friday, December 19, 2025, at CaroMont Regional Medical Center.

Born July 8, 1944, in Longview, Washington, Joe was the son of the late Houston and Dovie Moffitt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Joe was known for his humility, strong work ethic, and quiet strength. A man of few words but deep character, he lived his life with gentleness and integrity. He was a faithful member of Plainview Baptist Church in Dallas.

Joe shared 60 wonderful years with his loving wife, Billie Lutz Moffitt, who was the center of his world. Together they built a life grounded in love, family, and simple joys.

Left to cherish his memory, in addition to his wife, are his son, Mike Moffitt; daughter, Angie Thompson (Tom); grandchildren, Dustin Moffitt (Jane McMurry), Cole Moffitt, Hunter Holland (Courtney), Tyler Holland (Riley), and Brooke Thompson; sister‑in‑law, Sue Moffitt; and nephew, Tommy Coley (Sandy).

A service celebrating Joe’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Plainview Baptist Church, 3640 Dallas High Shoals Highway, Dallas, NC. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. prior to the service. Pastor Mark Hovis will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Plainview Baptist Church, 3640 Dallas High Shoals Hwy, Dallas, NC 28034.
