Joe King

Joe King, 69, of Kings Mountain, NC, went home to be with the Lord on May 29, 2022 at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC.

He was born in Cleveland County, NC on January 8, 1953, to the late Ellis Harmon and Maude Jolly King.

Joe faithfully attended Bethel Baptist Church in Shelby, NC.  He retired from the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Terri Cash King; brothers, Tommy, David, Bobby, and Jimmy King; and a sister, Barbara Wright.

Joe is survived by a son, Wayne King and fiancé, Nikki Massey; two sisters, Janelle Wood and husband John, and Susan King; a grandson, Noah King; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate Joe's life will be held Thursday, June 2, 2022, at 6:30 pm at Bethel Baptist Church, 606 South Dekalb Street, Shelby, NC.  Dr. Tim Sims will officiate.  The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church from 5:00 – 6:30 pm.  Interment will be private.

Pallbearers will be deputies from the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office.  Honorary pallbearers will be active and retired law enforcement officers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church Building Fund, 606 Dekalb Street, Shelby, NC 28150.
