Joe Frank Dellinger

Joe Frank Dellinger, 88, of Bessemer City, passed away on April 11,2017, at Caromont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia.

He was born December 9, 1928, in Gaston County, son of the late Marcus Wesley Dellinger and Annie Mae Dellinger.

Mr. Dellinger was involved in the Gaston County Christian Jail Ministry for over 44 years.

In his younger days, he enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a member of the Tri-County Coon Club. He was an avid gardener who shared his produce with  family and neighbors.

A celebration of Mr. Dellinger's life will be held 4:00 pm Friday, April 14, 2017, at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd. Gastonia, officiated by the Revs. Johnny Gantt and Joe Lawing.

The family will receive friends 2-4 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

The graveside service will be private.

Mr. Dellinger is survived by daughters, Frankie Goforth of Gastonia, Vickie King and Sandra Dellinger both of Bessemer City; brothers, Robert and Charles Dellinger both of Cherryville; grandchildren, Stacy and Patrick Lowery, Ricky Spencer; eight great-grandchildren, Chris, Katie, Brianna, Justin, Cheyenne, Dakota, Nicholas, Faith .

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by wife, Pearl Smith Dellinger; brother, Hugh Dellinger; sisters, Lillian Whitesides, Helen Ross, Alma Beam, Lois McSwain, Merle Carpenter.
