Joe Baker Costner

Joe Baker Costner, 87, of Gastonia, passed away April 18, 2017 at Caromont Regional Medical Center.

He was born June 21, 1929, a native of Gaston County, the son of the late Gladys "Glad" Costner and Nell Vannoy Costner.

Joe was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Gastonia.  He was the owner of Joe's Mustang of Lake Wylie.  He enjoyed fishing and playing golf.  He was a man who loved his sweetheart and his family.  He will be dearly missed.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 70 years, Delphia Harvell Costner; sons Benny Costner, Ronnie Costner and wife Donna, Blair Costner and wife Lisa; daughters Dottie and husband the Rev. Gerald Ramsey, Linda Denton and husband Dennis; brothers Richard, Bob and Ray Costner; sister Nell Conner; 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Jim Costner and sister Becky Mauney.

A funeral service, officiated by the Rev. Gerald Ramsey, will be held 3 pm Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Trinity United Methodist Church .

The family will receive friends 2 – 2:45 pm prior to the service at the church.

Burial will be in Gaston Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 1513 Florida St, Gastonia, NC 28052.
