Joe Bell

Joe Wilkins Bell, 80, of Lowell, passed away March 9, 2017 at the Robin Johnson House in Dallas.

He was born April 12, 1936 a native of Gaston County, the son of the late John William Bell and Lucy Elliot Bell.

Joe attended Sharon Freewill Baptist Church of Gastonia.  He was employed with Burlington Industries of Lowell for many years.

Left to cherish his memories are his sons Donnie Welch and Jerry Jenkins and wife Sue Ellen; daughter Sherry Caldwell and husband Bill; sister Ruby Smith; grandchildren Jenny Neal, Ben Jenkins, Sommer Grigg, Chasity Heffner, Chase Caldwell, Chris Keener, Michael Penley and six great-grandchildren.

A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Odell Cook, will be held 2 pm Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Gaston Memorial Park.

Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
