JoAnn J. Freeman, 72, of Gastonia, went home to be with Jesus on November 16, 2018 at her residence with her loving family at her side.
A Gaston County native, she was born December 28, 1945, the daughter of the late Walden and Betty Jenkins.
JoAnn was a member of Clover First Free Will Baptist Church and was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord.
She was a very special person who loved her family greatly and will be missed by all that knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Michael Freeman; and five sisters.
Left to cherish her memories are her children and their spouses, Lisa McCarn Brooks and husband Charlie, Angela McCarn Rankin and husband Robert; sisters, Janette Pastula and Lorene; grandchildren, Timothy, Tonia, David, Tonya, David, Randy, Cody, and Robert; great-grandchildren, Travis, Kaitlyn, Tristan, David, Melody, Tyler, Little Man, and Jayden; great-great-grandchildren, Carter and Wyatt; special friends, Linda, Tama, and Nora.
A funeral service officiated by Revs. Marvin Carson and Eddie Carson will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 21, at Clover First Freewill Baptist Church, 308 Valley Ave., Clover, SC.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Gardens, Mt. Holly.
