Joan Elizabeth Ball

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joan Elizabeth Ball, beloved mother, sister, and friend. Born on February 23, 1948, in North Carolina, Joan peacefully departed this world on July 1, 2024, at Belaire Heath Care, Gastonia, NC.

Throughout her life, Joan was known for her kind and compassionate spirit, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. After earning her High School Diploma, Joan pursued a successful career as an Office Manager in the printing industry, where her hard work and dedication left a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of working alongside her.

Joan is survived by her loving son, Douglas Ball (Rebecca), as well as her devoted sisters, Mary Emma Phillips and Wanda Parkins (Ron), she will be remembered fondly by all who knew her for her warmth, strength, and unwavering generosity. Especially her friend and neighbor Sue Mauldin for helping her over the years.

Memorial services to celebrate Joan's life will be held 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at Dallas Church of God, where family and friends will come together to honor and pay their respects to a remarkable woman who touched the lives of so many. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Ball, parents Stanley and Rubye Thomas.
