Jimmy Lewis Wilson, 80, of Kings Mountain, ambassador of Christ, went home to be with the Lord on November 11, 2014 at Wendover Hospice House, Shelby. He was born May 4, 1934 in Gaston County, son of the late Irene Collins and his step-father, the late Fred Collins. Jim was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, Gastonia and he also was a former member of Carson Memorial Baptist Church, Kings Mountain. He served as a deacon, Sunday school superintendent and teacher. He was a director of outreach missions and bus missions. He loved to visit the sick and shut-ins and enjoyed handing out tracts. He was an avid golfer and bowler. He loved his family and church family. Jim was employed with AB Carter for 37 years. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday at Carson Memorial Baptist Church, 262 Sparrow Springs Rd. Kings Mountain, officiated by the Reverends Chris Wilson, Robert Ammons and Joseph Aldrich. The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the church. Interment will be at Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain. Mr. Wilson is survived by: his loving wife of over 58 years, Elizabeth Spencer Wilson; sons, Rev. Chris Wilson and wife Diane, Michael Wilson; daughter, Cathy Kiser and husband Brett; sisters, Linda Deaton, Judy Bridges; grandchildren, Brian Wilson and wife Sonja, Bradley Wilson and wife Kaylee, Cameron Wilson, Brittany Wilson, Jennifer Childers and husband Shane, Jaime Kiser, Kevin Kiser; great grandchildren, Madi, Claire, Carter, Taylor, and Marley Wilson, Jackson, Elijah, Shaylee and Charlie Childers; beloved dogs, Charley and Lucy. In addition to his mother and step-father he was preceded in death by: brother - in-laws, Larry Deaton and Ned Bridges. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Liberty Baptist Church 1001 West Second Ave. Gastonia, NC 28052 or Carson Memorial Baptist Church 262 Sparrow Springs Rd. Kings Mountain, NC 28086 or Hospice of Cleveland County c/o Wendover Hospice House 951 Wendover Heights Dr. Shelby, NC 28150. Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
