He was born July 15, 1936, in Anson County, son of the late Homer Broome and Louise Thomas Broome.
A funeral service will be held 3pm on Tuesday, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 South York Rd., Gastonia.
The family will receive friends 2-3pm before the service at the funeral home.
Interment is private.
Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
