Jim "Red" Brown

Jim "Red" Brown, 85, of Gastonia, NC, passed away, May 29, 2021 at Caromont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia, NC.

He was born April 11, 1936 in Greenville Co, SC, son of the late Ernest Lawrence Brown and Susan Elizabeth Beam.

Red was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, John Brown; and sisters, Mamie Sue Head and Catherine Brown.

Red is survived by his loving wife of over 53 years, Dorothy Eplin Brown; son, Earnie Brown; daughters, Barbara Michael and husband Alan and Cheryl Creech and husband Donald; sister, Mary Pickelsimer; grandchildren, Ashley Pennington, Brittany Creech and Zachary Brown; and great-grandchildren, Emalynn, Alden, Kaylee, Khloei and Cole Pennington.

A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Thomas Hovis will be held 2pm on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to, Caromont Cancer Center – 2525 Court Drive, Gastonia, NC 28054.

Burial will be held at Armstrong Cemetery, Gastonia, NC.
