Jill Adair Rutli died on January 2, 2016 in Gastonia, NC. She was 61.
Jill was born on October 1, 1954 in Ypsilanti, MI to her parents, Joann Heiler and Robert Rutley. She graduated from Belleville High School in 1973.
Jill grew up in Michigan, but spent several years of her adult life in New Mexico, Colorado, Michigan, Florida, Virginia and North Carolina. She was a conscientious, incredibly resourceful, and organized worker in the administrative field who dedicated herself to continuously improving her work processes. She was an absolute perfectionist with her work.
Jill loved to "putz around in the garden" and knew the names of every flower and shrub. Her home always had the most beautiful gardens, and she inspired others to garden as well. She was an excellent seamstress, and enjoyed working on any crafty project. If she could help anyone with a home project, she would jump at the chance. Jill was known for surprising friends and family with random acts of kindness. She often donated to the Humane Society as she loved animals.
Jill had a big, beautiful smile and a magnetic personality that lit up a room. She was incredibly funny and witty and if she didn't make you laugh, at least she cracked herself up. Jill was full of life, and had many traveling adventures with her sister and best friends. She loved dancing, country music, and rock and roll. She loved NASCAR and watched it religiously for many years. She enjoyed wearing jeans and dressing casual. She always drove a pick up truck and her CB handle was "Red Neck Girl"!
Jill is survived by her mother, Joann Heiler; her sisters, Kelly Walker, Hilary Schubert and Kim Rutley; her brothers, Jim Rutley and Hugh Rutley; her step mother, Patricia Rutley; her cat, Daffodil ("Daffy"); and many amazing and supportive friends.
Jill will be cremated. She did not want to have a memorial service. In lieu of that, please donate to Gaston Hospice, Dallas, NC. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Meadow Wood Nursing Center in Gastonia, NC for their loving care of Jill during her stay there. In addition, the family would like to thank Gaston Hospice, for their extraordinary care, love and support of Jill while in their care.
