Jill Robertson

Jill Robertson of Gastonia, NC went home to be with our Heavenly Father the evening of Wednesday, April 10 in the year of our Lord 2024.  She was 69 years old.

Born October 1, 1954, to Vernon and Mary Haynes, Jill was the third of their four children.  She was an energetic, especially bright, popular kid, and a bit of a self-described tomboy.

In high school, Jill met and quickly fell in love with her soulmate, Bill Robertson.  The couple wed in 1976 and were happily together until Bill passed away in 2018.

Jill was a woman of varied interests and talents.  Among many other things, she was an accomplished writer, painter, stained glass worker and certified Master Gardener.  She was a voracious reader, a fantastic cook, loving wife and doting, proud mother to her only son, Sean.  Jill was also a great student:  later in life, she earned two associate degrees in criminal justice from Gaston College, graduating with honors in 2010.

Jill is preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Mary Haynes, and her husband Bill.  She is survived by her two sisters, Charmie, and Robin; her brother, Kim (Sheila); and her son, Sean and his fiancé, Tammy Bousman.

The family has elected to hold a celebration of life ceremony for Jill at a later date.
