Jessie Mae Brown

Jessie Mae Brown, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family on July 23, 2025.

Born on May 10, 1937. Jessie worked at Pharr Yarns. She attended Fraley Baptist Church and Oakland Memorial Baptist Church. Jessie loved sewing and making quilts in her early years. In her later years she enjoyed listening to gospel music and old country music. Jessie loved each and every one of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her great-great-grandchildren.

Jessie is preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph "Turk" Brown; parents, Daisy and Carl Warren; brother, Roy Warren; sister, Ruby Smith; daughter, Julie Carver; and great-grandson, Devin Elliott.

Jessie is survived by her children, Teresa Elliott, Ronnie Brown (Crystal), Roy Peche (Nancy), and Joey Brown (Trish); sister, Annie Sanders; grandchildren, Mark, Clint, Christopher, Daniel, Joshua, Dallas, Wesley, Hannah, Tamara, Brad, and Elizabeth; 20 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren. Jessie had a special bond with longtime friend, Crystal Scott.

Special thank you to Carolina Caring nurses and staff for helping ensure Jessie had the best end of life care.

A celebration of life service officiated by Pastor Mike Criswell, will be held 2:00pm, on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service - 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052. Family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
