Jesse Willard Haley Jr.

Jesse Willard Haley Jr., 76, of Gastonia, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2016 at the Robin Johnson Hospice House.  He was born December 18, 1940 in Columbus GA and was the son of the late Jesse Willard Haley Sr. and Lorene Almond Wheat.  Jesse was a member of Dallas Baptist Church, he was an avid bowler, a member of the Gaston County Law Enforcement Association, and a mason with the Fleming Lodge 718. A US Army Veteran of 23 years he served as a combat medic, lab technician, morgue technician, pharmacy technician, and he served as ward master of the 10th floor in DDEMC, Ft. Gordon, GA.

A funeral service will be held 10 am Tuesday at Dallas Baptist Church 402 West Trade St. Dallas, NC with Pastor Barron Lee, officiating.  Interment will follow at 1 pm at the VA Cemetery, Salisbury with military honors.  The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 pm Monday at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium.

Left to cherish his memory are his Mother, his son, Jesse W. Haley III and life partner Chip Hagen; daughters, Frances LaVonna Haley, Debbra Faye Cunningham and husband Chris, Patricia Ann Newsone and husband Jerry, Jessie Lee Bryce and husband Todd, Kim Marie Morris, Victoria LaVonna Winkler and wife Destine; brother, Jerry Edward Haley and wife Linda; sister, Judy Harriet Payton and husband Russ; grandchildren 17; great grandchildren 15; best friend, Tom M. Deane; numerous friends, and other loved ones.  In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Leisenring Haley; sister and brother in-law, Joyce Alice and Robert Stachel.
