Jerry Anne Ramsey

On September 13, 2018, heaven gained another angel. Jerry Ann Ramsey, 81, was taken from this world and met her Lord and Savior. She was reunited with her precious daughter, Penny, loving husband, Archie, brother, Steve, and granddaughter, Candice.
She was born March 7, 1937, in Gaston County, daughter of the late Stonewall Matthew Scates and Athalee Morton Scates.
Jerry will be missed by everyone who knew her. She was a fire that lit up a room, bringing people together, showing us all how to love without limits, hesitation, and judgement. She loved fiercely and unselfishly, giving so much of her time to those she cared for, encouraging them, and loving them for exactly who they were, being an unwavering support during any time of need. She was the rock and heartbeat of her family and was the epitome of what a Mother/ Grandmother should be. She left a legacy that is apparent through her children, grandchildren and the countless other lives she touched. She was the mother of two amazing mothers and a father, 11 loving grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren (or "her babies" as she called them), and many others whom she so willingly took under her wing. Also, left to cherish her memories are her 2 step daughters, 3 sisters, and 1 brother. Mrs. Ramsey was a member of Carson Memorial Baptist Church and enjoyed bowling, golfing, (online shopping), craft, her Carolina Panthers, and anything sweet! Most of all, she loved people, and they undeniably loved her.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Thursday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd. Gastonia, officiated by Pastors Chris Wilson and Dickey Spargo.
The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
Entombment will be at Gaston Memorial Park Mausoleum.
