Jerry D. Mathis, Sr. 63, of Gastonia, passed away Friday, September 23, 2016 at his home.
He was born June 27, 1953 in Gaston Co., son of the late Iliff "Red" Mathis and Verna Mae Mathis.
Jerry was employed with Cookson Co. in Gastonia for over 33 years.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Iliff Richard "Rick" Mathis; grandchild, Jaylyn Detter. Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 34 years Patsy Mathis of the home; son, Jerry D. Mathis, Jr. and wife Melissa, David Lee Mathis and wife Gloria; daughter, Jada M. Mathis and husband Chris Detter; grandchildren, Evan Lee Mathis, Jase Detter; sister, Georgia "Ellen" Crawford and husband Wayne; nieces, Samantha Ward and Karen Crawford.
