Jerry Wayne Garmon

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jerry Wayne Garmon, who left us on November 10, 2025, at the age of 61. Born on July 15, 1964, Jerry was a beloved member of the W 5th Avenue Freewill Baptist Church, where he served as chairman of the deacon board and taught Sunday school. He was also a proud Marine veteran, reflecting his dedication to service and community.

Jerry was a family man through and through. He cherished his wife, Robin, with whom he shared 35 wonderful years of marriage, and took great joy in the lives of his children and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his son, Robbie Sanders (Bree), and his grandchildren, Nico Knutsen, Grayson Knutsen, Colby Sanders, and Madison Sanders. He also leaves behind a loving sister-in-law, Donna Sanders, a special nephews, Steven Sanders and Sean Sanders, a treasured cousin, Danny Bolynn, and many dear great-nieces and nephews.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Caroll Auten and Shelby Jean Garmon, and his daughter, Brandi Knutsen.

We invite you to join us in celebrating Jerry's life on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 2 p.m. at West 5th Avenue Freewill Baptist Church, located at 2145 W Fifth Avenue, Gastonia, NC 28056. There will be a time for family and friends to gather one hour before the service to share memories and honor a remarkable man.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial contributions to the church that meant so much to Jerry.
