It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jerry Clyde Gainey, who departed this life on May 23, 2026, in Cherryville, North Carolina. Born on August 2, 1950, Jerry lived a life dedicated to his craft as an auto mechanic, spending over 50 years working with devotion in several car dealerships in the local area. He was well-known for his skillful hands and kind heart, was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in his community, and enjoyed golfing in his spare time.
Jerry is survived by his beloved daughter, Delena Jarvis, grandsons, Hunter and Matthew, great-granddaughters, Madison and Lily, and several cousins, who will forever cherish the memories he left. His spirit will continue to inspire those who had the honor of knowing him.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Jerry at his funeral service, which will be held at Greene Funeral Service South Chapel on May 27, 2026, at 2:00 PM. The funeral service will be officiated by Rev. Sam Barnette. Prior to the service, a visitation will take place at the funeral home from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, allowing loved ones to come together, share stories, and celebrate Jerry's life. The family would like to give special thanks to Eddie for his care of Mr. Gainey.
Following the service, Jerry will be laid to rest at his final resting place at Evergreen Cemetery, Belmont, NC 28012. As we say goodbye to a cherished father, friend, and craftsman, we find comfort in the memories that will live on in our hearts.
Jerry Clyde Gainey will be deeply missed, but his legacy of kindness and dedication will forever remain with us.
