Jerry Lee Drennan Sr.

Jerry Lee Drennan Sr., of Belmont, NC, passed away Friday, October 6, 2023, at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia.

A native of Gaston County, he was born June 5, 1940, to the late Howard and Fannie Drennan.

Jerry was a member of Springwood Church of God in Belmont. He has been an evangelist for many years, and also worked in textiles. In his free time, he enjoyed building things. Jerry never met a stranger and was always witty.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Bob Drennan, Rev. James Drennan; sisters, Lib, Sue, Christine, Dot.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 26 years, Betty Hooks Drennan; sons, Jerry Lee Drennan Jr. (Sally), Randy Drennan (Karla); daughters, Sheila Hoyle (Todd), Lisa Terry (Scott); stepchildren, David Ballew (Deloris), Vanessa Hester (Jim); nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Service officiated by Pastor Scott Huffman and Pastor Jerry Willard, will be held Saturday, October 28, 2023, 2:00 PM, at Springwood Church of God, 1007 Hickory Grove Rd., Gastonia, NC.
