Jerry Michael Black Sr.

Jerry Michael Black Sr., passed away peacefully on January 19, 2025. He was born in Kings Mountain on August 28, 1940, the only child to the late Bill and Vera Sanders Black. Whether it was JB, Pop, or Pawpaw, Jerry loved the simple life and the old ways. He enjoyed building a warm fire in his woodstoves, taking trips to his cabin, picking blueberries and sitting in the shade in the summer. He spent his early years working as a butcher in local supermarkets, and while not at work he enjoyed a good rabbit hunt with his beagle dogs, and was said to have had the best non field champion anyone had ever seen.

Jerry is survived by sons, Michael Black and wife Holly, Jamie Black and wife Brenda; grandchildren, Buddy Black and wife Lindsey, Heather Reid and husband Landon, Tyler Black, Austin Black and wife Taylor, Miles Galloway and wife Lauren, Benjamin Galloway and wife Elizabeth, Josh Barrett; great-grandchildren, Tytonn Patterson, Bentlee Black, Brooks Reid, Jordy and Keely Black, Charlotte and Bejamin Galloway II and his best friend, Tim Carpenter.

All services will be private.
