Jerry Franklin Black, 87, of Dallas, NC, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at his residence.

He was born November 14, 1934, in Gaston, NC, son of the late Raymond Leander Black and Evelyn Huggins.

Jerry was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Dallas. He loved the Atlanta Braves, his family, and the mountains.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Janice Withers, Joyce Stamey, and Kay Rudisill.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 65 years, Shirley Stines Black; son, Reggie Black (Debbie); daughter, Tonita Wilkinson; grandchildren, Chris Black, Haley Brackett, Nicholas Wilkinson; and great-grandchildren, Brittany Black, Harlee Black, Benjamin Brackett, and Jackson Wilkinson.

A memorial service officiated by Pastor John Spencer, will be held 3pm on Friday, February 25, 2022, at St. Paul Lutheran Church - 531 Hardin Rd, Dallas, NC 28034 .

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church.
