It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jerita Kay Doster, who left us on November 3, 2025, in Gastonia, North Carolina. Born on March 28, 1954, in Gaston County, North Carolina, Jerita was a loving grandmother and an unforgettable presence in the lives of her family and friends.
Jerita was the kind of grandmother who showered everyone with love and care, making her home a warm and welcoming place for all. Her family meant the world to her, and she was known for her boundless affection and nurturing spirit. She had a way of making everyone feel special, and if you were lucky enough to know her, you surely received a blessing.
For many years, Jerita worked as a spinner in the textile industry at Carolina Mills, showcasing her strong work ethic and dedication. Although she may not have finished school, she possessed a wealth of wisdom and kindness that far surpassed any degree.
Jerita will be sorely missed by her loved ones, especially her grandkids, who will carry her memory in their hearts forever. She is survived by son, Brian Pike; grand daughter, Amanda Pike; sisters, Tonya Carson; niece, Tammy Carson. She still misses you Bam Bam and Ronnie Lee, but most of all her grandbaby, Chris.
Jerita was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Letha Pike; son, Ronald Lee Mills Jr, grandson, Brian Keith Pike Jr.; sister, Kim Pike; brother Ray Mills.
Future arrangements for a celebration of life gathering will take place to honor the beautiful spirit of Jerita. Exact details will be shared with family and friends soon, so we can come together to remember and celebrate her incredible life.
Rest in peace, Jerita. Your love will forever be a guiding light for us all.
Love, your grandson.
