Jennie Ruth Chastaine

Jennie Ruth Chastaine, 79, of Cherryville, passed away on August 7, 2013 at Kings Mountain Hospice House. She was born April 14, 1934 in Gaston County daughter of the late Charles and Maggie L. Carpenter. The family would like to thank Hospice for the care that was given to Mrs. Chastaine. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd., officiated by Pastor Tony Franklin. The family will receive friends 1:00 - 1:45 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City. Mrs.Chastaine is survived by;sons, Mark and Charles Chastaine; daughters, Penny Chastaine, Betty Smith and Cherie Walker; brother, Earl Carpenter; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by: husband, Charlie Grover Chastaine; daughter, Kim Chastaine; brother, Erwin Carpenter; sisters, Viola Underdown, Ann Carpenter and Myrnell Chastaine.
