Jeffrey Allen Summitt

Jeffrey Allen Summitt, 60, of Bessemer City, NC, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2024, at his residence.

A native of Gaston County, he was born on June 7, 1963, to Patsy Summitt and the late Reverend Ben Allen Summitt.

Jeff loved spending his time fishing, especially for trout. He enjoyed all kinds of music and whistled often. Jeff had a big heart and was always helping people; he loved to laugh and make others laugh too. He was a dedicated worker.

In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, Glenn Wood.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 41 years, Peggy Summitt; son, Kyle Summitt (Kasey); daughter, Hannah White (Sean); sisters, Kim Freeman, Amy Gilliland, and Jill Fields; grandchildren, Alex Summitt, and Hadley White, who called him Poppy; and mother-in-law, Judy Wood.

A celebration of life officiated by Pastor Jim Loftis, will be held 2pm, Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Rankin Lake Baptist Church - 2705 Gastonia Dallas Hwy, Dallas, NC 28034.

Family will receive friends following the service at the church.
