Jeffrey "Jeff" Keith Laye Sr.

Jeffrey "Jeff" Keith Laye, Sr., 53, of Gastonia, passed away December 22, 2016.

He was born January 27, 1963, a native of Gaston County, the son of Mary "Lettie" Cable Laye and the late Wilburn Oscar Laye.

Jeff was a very good mechanic and was formerly employed with Seigland America.

Left to cherish his memories along with his mother are his sons Joseph Laye, Joshua Laye and wife Brittany of Kansas, Keith Laye and wife Shay of Kings Mountain; sister Denise Pressley and husband Jimbo of Gastonia; brother Rodney Laye and wife Kathy of Chapel Grove and four grandchildren.

The family wishes to give special thanks to Lincoln Hospice nurses Joy, Trish and Leah and especially Sherry Clubb for their care of Jeff.

A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Richard Cole will be held 12 pm Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.

Receiving of friends and family will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at his mother's home, 1109 Summer Drive, Gastonia.

Interment will be in Hollywood Cemetery.

Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
