Jeffrey Scott Coggins

Jeffrey Scott Coggins, a big guy with an even bigger heart, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2026, at the age of 64. Born on December 13, 1961, in Gastonia, NC, Jeffrey spent his life in the Dallas area, proudly building a life filled with love and laughter alongside his devoted wife of 33 years, Leigh Ann Coggins.

Jeffrey was a remarkable husband, father, brother, and friend who cherished his family above all. He had an unwavering faith in God and was known for his infectious and funny laugh that could light up any room. A true lover of the outdoors, he enjoyed fishing whenever he had the chance, and he had a special gift for giving everyone nicknames, making each person feel unique and valued.

He is survived by his loving wife, Leigh Ann, as well as his son, Hunter Coggins (Layne Gardner); sisters, Teresa Bell and Kelly Laws; nieces, Amanda Bradley (John), Ashley Wray, and their children; father in-law and mother in-law, Gene and Betty Hanna.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Margaret Ann Coggins; nephew, Brandon Bell.

A private graveside service for Jeffrey will be held by the family at Hollywood Cemetery, officiated by Pastors Johnny Sawyer and Danny Houser.

Jeffrey will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will live on in our hearts and memories.
