Jeffery Brance Hamby

Jeffery Brance Hamby, 61, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2023, at his residence.

He was born January 4, 1962, in Gaston Co, NC, son of the late Grady Brance and Melva Cope Hamby.

Jeffery was a member of the NRA and North American Fishing Club. He was a big donor of the Indian Tribal Funds. He loved fishing, four wheeling, hunting, and was a former high school football player.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Jean Hamby; brothers, Jerry Hamby, and Steve Hamby; and sister, Debbie Hamby; best friend Jeff Erby.

Jeffery is survived by his sister, Kathy Brummitt; nieces, Angie Nash, Melanie Brummitt, Ariel Nikole Dunn, and Kimberly Vanderlaand; nephews, Michael Shannon Brummitt, David Christopher Brummitt, Joshua Kylie Ball, and Brandon Lee Ball; great nephew, Brayden Ball; great niece, Lilly Ball; and sister-in-law, Renee Hamby.

A funeral service will be held 2pm, Saturday, June 10, 2023, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Honorary pallbearers will be David Christopher Brummitt, Michael Shannon Brummitt, Joshua Kylie Ball, Brandon Lee Mayhue, Dustin Dawson, and Ron Hamby.
