Jeanette Ballew Wood

Jeanette Wood, 92, of Charlotte, NC, passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at her residence.

She was born April 28, 1931, in Jackson County, NC to the late Bryan Ballew and Hester Nicholson.

Jeanette attended East Belmont Church of God. Jeanette was a rock to her family. She was always up to date on current events. She was a fabulous cook. She loved her family. She never had a cross word with anyone.  She was an avid bowler, who continued this hobby until she was 80 years young.

Jeanette loved to travel.  Prior to her husband's death, Jeanette and Avery, in a motor coach, visited all of the United States, except Alaska and Hawaii.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Avery Wood; sons, Arthur Wood and Michael Wood.

Jeanette is survived by her daughter Kay Holcomb and husband Larry; grandchildren, Wendi Foreman and husband Jessie, Brian Holcomb and wife Amanda, Jason Holcomb, Scott Holcomb; great-grandchildren, Grant, Aiden, Autumn, Dylan, Jaden, Austin; great great-grandchild, Dailynn.

A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Danny Peterson, will be held Sunday, October 1, 2023, 2:00 PM, at East Belmont Church of God, 320 Catawba St. Belmont, NC 28012.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial will be Monday, October 2, 2023, 1:00PM, at Union Hill Cemetery in Whittier, NC
