Jean Sue Kane

April 30, 1946 — May 23, 2026

Jean Sue Kane, 80, of Gastonia, North Carolina, passed away on May 23, 2026, at her home surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on April 30, 1946, in Gastonia, NC, Jean was the daughter of the late Frank Greene and Ella Vee Marr. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond Kane; her brothers, Tommie Greene and Larry Greene; her daughter, Martha Briand; and her grandson, Dwayne Mays.

Jean is survived by her sister, Shelia Lane (Kenneth), and children, Larry Dellinger, Jr. (Jamie), Terry Dellinger (Jackie), and Katherine Graske (Trina). She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Steven Mays (Megan), Christopher Mays, Angela Dellinger, Rachel Dellinger, JD Dellinger (Eryn), Tyler Dellinger, and Madoc Graske, as well as her great-grandchildren, Georgia, Ainsleigh, and Lawson.

For nearly 50 years, Jean dedicated herself to hard work at Pharr Yarns in McAdenville, North Carolina. Her resilience, determination, and unmatched work ethic became a lasting example to everyone around her. She understood sacrifice and perseverance, and she built a life rooted in love, loyalty, and providing for her family.

To those who loved her, Jean was more than a mother and grandmother, she was home. Her house was a place of comfort, peace, laughter, and safety. Summers were spent swimming in her pool, eating snacks at the kitchen table, and enjoying her sweet tea. She loved gardening, trips to the beach, movies, family dinners, and her beloved dog, Olive. She had a gift for making ordinary moments feel special and unforgettable.

Jean's influence stretched far beyond the walls of her home. She inspired generations through the way she lived her life with strength, dignity, kindness, and quiet determination. The values she carried became the foundation for the people she loved: hard work, compassion for others, and the belief that life should always be made better for those around you.

Her family will remember her in countless small but meaningful ways like the smell of her home, flowers in the yard, a cold Coca-Cola, home cooking at the dinner table, and the feeling of knowing they were deeply loved in her presence.

Though her absence leaves an immeasurable void, the love, lessons, and memories she gave to her family will remain for generations to come.

Jean will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
