Jean Eudy Fortner

Jean Eudy Fortner, 87, of Harrisburg NC, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 13, 2025 at her residence after a multi-year battle with kidney disease.

A native of Cabarrus County, she was born on July 15, 1938 to the late Dan & Margaret Eudy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Daniel "Bud" Eudy and sister, Sylvia Eudy Hamby.

Jean is survived by her husband of more than 68 years, Earl Fortner and two sons, Keith Fortner (Nancy) and Brent Fortner (Christel), a sister Patsy Lee, three grandchildren, Julie Fortner, Andrew Fortner, Max (Crystal) Fortner, three step-grandchildren, Kristyn Slater Davis (Luke), Cole Slater, Jake Slater; great grandchild, Lillie Saunders and step great grandchild, Cade Davis.

Jean was a woman of strong faith and even stronger convictions. She was a member of the Hickory Grove Methodist Church in Charlotte, NC. Over the years she has been a business owner, a den mother, a member of the Groovy Groovers Dancing Club, and the Red Hat Society. She loved to travel, collect all things unique and handmade, anything blue and last but not least her family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at Hickory Grove United Methodist Church located at 6401 Hickory Grove Rd, Charlotte NC 28215 at 1:00 PM. The family will be receiving visitors immediately before the service at 12:30 PM.
