Jean Crane, 80, of Gastonia, passed away January 11, 2018, at White Oak Manor, Shelby.
She was born February 25, 1937, in Gaston County, daughter of the late Charles B. Gillespie Sr. and Alberta Gillespie.
She was a member of Ragan Wesleyan Church, Gastonia, where she served as a Sunday school teacher, member of the choir, and secretary and treasurer of B.Y. F. She was a former volunteer at White Oak Manor in Kings Mountain. She also was a property manager for many years.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husband, Palmer Crane; son, Richard Crane; grandson, Damon Crane; brother, Charles B. Gillespie Jr.; sisters, Judy Houck, Cathy Jenkins.
She is survived by daughter and son- in- law, Karen and Kenneth Bridges; grandchildren, Preston D. Bridges and wife, Heather, Todd A. Bridges, Nikki Crane; great-grandchildren, Avett Bridges, Paxton Bridges, Kaela Thompson, Brittani Jones; great-great- grandchildren, Myles Crane, Daemon Maldonado, Brooks Jones; brother, Joseph T. Gillespie and wife, June.
A funeral service will be held 2:00pm Sunday, January 14, 2018, at Ragan Wesleyan Church, 535 Oates Road, Gastonia, officiated by Pastor John Harper
The family will receive friends 5:30 – 7:00 pm Saturday, January 13, 2018, at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd. Gastonia.
Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia.
