It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jason Scott Haney, born on November 11, 1978, in Gastonia, North Carolina. Jason left us on August 6, 2026. He was a beloved son, father, and friend, known for his warmth, kindness, and infectious spirit.
Jason was the type of person who could light up a room; he had a natural ability to connect with everyone he met. Whether he was working on cars as a skilled mechanic or sharing stories about his passions - like his impressive collection of coins and baseball cards - Jason always brought joy to those around him. He had a special fondness for sharing laughs over a cold Mountain Dew and enjoyed adventurous outings with his friends.
Above all, Jason cherished his family. He was immensely proud of his daughter, Alexis Lowery, and often spoke of her future with great anticipation. His love for his mother, Linda Haney, niece, Chasity Haney, brother, David Haney, as well as his grandchildren was palpable, and he considered them his greatest treasures. His family fondly remembers him as a "pistol," full of life, laughter, and an unwavering heart.
A funeral service will be held in Jason's honor at Greene Funeral Service South Chapel on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 3:00 PM. Prior to this, friends and family are invited to pay their respects during a visitation on Friday, August 14, 2026, beginning at 6:00 PM, also at Greene Funeral Service South Chapel, 1503 S. York Road Gastonia, NC.
Though Jason may no longer be with us, his spirit will live on in the countless lives he touched. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Jason was preceded in death by: Father Clyde Haney Jr.
