Janis Rushton Tapp

Mt. Holly, NC Janis Rushton Tapp, 63, passed away, May 22, 2013 at The Robin Johnson House, Dallas, NC. She was born June 13, 1949 in Gastonia, daughter of Pauline Rushton of Mt. Holly. Janis was a member of Garver Memorial Baptist Church, Gastonia. She was retired from Pharr Yarns in McAdenville and Wal-Mart. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and playing rummy with her sister, Wanda. A memorial service will be held 3 pm on Sunday at Garver Memorial Baptist Church, Gastonia. officiated by Rev. David Stewart Interment is private. Janis is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Tapp; brother, Olin Rushton; niece, Debbie Lowery; brother in-law, Willard Anders. Survivors include: her only son, Larry Ray Tapp and his fiancee`, Candy Worley of Mt. Holly; sister, Wanda McKinney and her husband, Mark of Mt. Holly; sisters, Kathy Anders of Mt. Holly, Pat Bethea and her husband, Paul of Charlotte; brother, Donald Rushton and his wife, Maxine of Blacksburg, SC; 30 nieces and nephews; special friends, Glenda Parker and Melvin Alexander.
