Janie Watts Lingerfelt

Janie Watts Lingerfelt, 87, of Lincolnton, passed away May 16, 2014, at Lincolnton Rehabilitation Center. She was born August 27, 1926, in Gaston County, NC, daughter of the late Charles Watts and Stella Flowers Watts. Janie was a member of East Belmont Church of God. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by: her husband, George "GR" Lingerfelt; brothers, Isaac, John, Jennings, and Noah Watts; sisters, Georgia Mitchem, Florence Dellinger, and Vinnie Barrett. She is survived by sons, Charles Lingerfelt and wife Abbie, Jim Lingerfelt and wife Birgit; daughters, Sherry Brown and husband David, Linda Underwood and husband Eddie; sister, Kat Paysour; 10 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 2pm Monday, May 19, 2014, at East Belmont Church of God, 320 Catawba Street, Belmont, NC 28012. Pastor Tom Tatum and Brother Dean Webb will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00-1:45pm Monday, prior to the service at the church. Interment will be held at Gaston Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to East Belmont Church of God or Hospice and Palliative Care of Lincoln County, 900 Dontia Dr. Lincolnton, NC 28092. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
