Janie Rea Dunlap Baldwin

Lowelll NC Janie Rea Dunlap Baldwin, 93, passed away October 14, 2013 at Autumn Care in Marshville, NC. She taught at Lowell Elementary School and Gaston College. Mrs. Baldwin was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church in Lowell, where she served as Director of Vacation Bible School for over fifty years. She was always proud to have been the first child born to Ward and Ardelle Sims Dunlap, "On The Fourth Of July" in the year 1920. A funeral service, officiated by Rev. David Clippard will be held at 2 pm Saturday, October 19th at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 South York Rd., Gastonia. Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 pm prior to the service. She is survived by daughter, Janice Norris (Buddy) of Marshville; son, Bill Baldwin of Lowell; sisters, Mildred Mobley of Statesville, Daviese Hill (Gerald) of Barnwell, SC; Ethelene Price of Lexington; Kathryn Darnell (Walter) of Vinton, VA; Eleanor McGinnis of Monroe; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by: her husband, Julius Baldwin; brother, Whitney Dunlap; sister, Isabelle McMahan.
