Janice Vaughn Mcknight

Janice Vaughn McKnight, 87, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2023, surrounded by her family at Gaston Health and Rehabilitation Center, Gastonia.

She was born October 31, 1935, in Cherokee Co, SC, daughter of the late Jesse Vaughn and Tiny Eulalia Kelley Vaughn.

Janice was a member of Unity Baptist Church, Gastonia, where she was a Sunday school teacher for 2 ^nd graders for many years. She retired as a RN from Dr. Andrew Miller's office, after about 40 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Julius E. McKnight; brothers, Ray, Donald, and Alex Vaughn; and son-in-law, David Mobley.

Janice is survived by her daughters, Nancy Mobley, and Rebecca "Becky" White and husband Dennis; grandchildren, Patrick Mobley, Carolina McMahan, Leanna Crockett, and Madison White; and great grandchildren, Emery McMahan, Caden McMahan, Ivy McMahan, Davis McMahan, Raelynn Crockett, Collins Crockett, Hudson Mobley, and Olivia Mobley.

Family will receive friends 6:00-8:00pm, Saturday, January 28, 2023, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052.

A graveside service officiated by Pastor Roger Mathis, will be held 3pm, Sunday, at Gaston Memorial Park - 1200 S New Hope Rd, Gastonia, NC 28054.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to, Unity Baptist Church - 482 N Myrtle School Rd, Gastonia, NC 28052.
