Janice Lorraine Jacobs Dye, 84, of Kings Mountain, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 3, 2021, at the Wendover Hospice House of Shelby.
Born on May 5, 1937, in Gaston County, NC, Janice is the daughter of the late Oscar Glenn and Eunice Waldrop Jacobs.
Janice was a member of First Baptist Church Kings Mountain. She retired from White Oak Manor of Kings Mountain after many years of service in their laundry department. Janice loved her family with all her heart and Jesus was always first in her life. The Dye family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to hospice for all they have done for their family.
In addition to her parents, Janice is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Phillip Dye, Sr., and brothers, Glenn Jacobs, and Jimmy Jacobs.
Left to cherish, Janice's memories are her son, Charles Phillip Dye, Jr.; brothers, David Jacobs (Jackie); sisters, Myrna Cunningham, Nancy Ann Sheppard, and Nancy Sue Jacobs; grandchildren, Jonathan Dye, and Nathan Sapp; several nieces and nephews; and many adopted grandchildren.
A funeral service, officiated by Rev. Chip Sloan and Rev. Jason Mills, will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service – 1503 S York Rd., Gastonia, NC, 28052.
The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Interment to follow the service at Mountain Rest Cemetery in Kings Mountain.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Cleveland County – 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC 28150.
