Janice Jo Hudson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Janice Jo Almond Hudson, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and cherished member of the Belmont community. Janice was born on April 27, 1937, Stanly County, NC and left this world on May 16, 2025.

A longtime resident of Belmont, NC, Janice proudly enjoyed the role of assistant in an eye doctor's office and teachers assistant, where her warm personality brightened the days of many. She was an active member of South Point Baptist Church of Belmont and was involved in a wonderful group known as the Belles and Beaus, where she formed lasting friendships and shared her love for the community.

Janice dedicated her time and love to various charitable efforts, notably delivering meals for Meals on Wheels. She had a passion for painting, a talent that she recently shared with her grandchildren by creating special paintings for them before her passing.

Family was everything to Janice. Left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Kimberly Long (Steve) and Ashli Denton; grandchildren, Alejandra Curry (Logan), Nathaniel Long (Yasmeen), Hunter Denton, Kennedy Denton, Abigail Long, and Alexander Long; great grandchild, Penelope Curry; twin sister, Joann Miller; one nephew and numerous cousins, all of whom will forever remember her generous spirit, contagious laughter, and knack for bringing people together.

Janice was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Hudson; parents, Josie and Rosa Almond; sister, Libby Morrison (Fred); brother in law, LC Miller and one nephew.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects and celebrate Janice's life on Friday, May 23, 2025. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm at South Point Baptist Church, 124 Horsley Ave, Belmont, NC 28012, with a visitation to follow after the service. A private family graveside service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery.

Janice will be deeply missed, but her love and light will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
