Janet Kay Mathis

GASTONIA - Janet Kay Mathis, 72, of 969 Cox Road, passed peacefully April 19th, 2025, at The Greens At Gastonia.

A native of Gaston County, she was the daughter of the late Wilburn and Sarah Morrow.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry Mathis Jr. and wife Melissa Mathis of Gastonia, and David Mathis of Gastonia; and one grandson Evan Mathis; Sister and Brothers, Betty Terry of Gastonia, Douglas Morrow and wife Deniese of SC; John Morrow and wife Carmen of Gastonia; Donald Morrow and wife Paula of Gastonia; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Glenda Varner; brothers, Michael Morrow and Joseph Morrow.

It was Janet's wish that there not be a public memorial service, instead, the family will gather for a private memorial.

Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
