Janet Lorraine Dean

Janet Lorraine Dean, 61 , of Bessemer City, passed away on June 15, 2021, at the Robin Johnson Hospice House in Dallas.

She was born December 13, 1959, in Plymouth, NC.

Janet was a member of Mt. Beulah Baptist Church in Dallas, where she was a lifelong church member and  a former Sunday school teacher. She was also involved with childcare.

Janet was a loving and tender-hearted person. She loved horses, camping and just being outdoors.

A funeral service will be held  2:00 pm Saturday, June 19, 2021,at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd. Gastonia, officiated by Pastor Doug Nab.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City.

Janet is survived by her mother, Joyce McNair Whitaker ; her daughter, Julia Katherine Haney of Bessemer City; brothers, Tony Ray Whitaker (Lisa); sister Bonnie Whitaker Cloninger (Mark French); four nieces and nephews.

Janet was preceded in death by  her father, Alfred Clinterd Whitaker; her husband, Barry Alan Dean; her son, Michael Leon Masters; her  brother, Jimmy Wayne Whitaker.

Memorials may be sent to her daughter, Julia Haney, 502 South 11 ^th Street Bessemer City, NC 28016.

Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
