Janet Elizabeth Beam Parker

Janet Elizabeth Beam Parker, 77, of Shelby went to be with the Lord on October 3, 2014 at the Wendover Hospice House in Shelby. She was born February 18, 1937 in Gaston County, daughter of the late Murray Vincent Beam Sr. and Merlyn McGinnis Beam. A celebration of Mrs. Janet's life will be held 7:00 pm Sunday at Love Valley Baptist Church, 2032 Bethlehem Rd. Kings Mountain, NC officiated by Pastor Barry Philbeck and Rev. Eddie Gray. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm - 6: 45 pm prior to the service at the church and other times at the home. The Interment will be held 11:00 am Monday at the Parker Family Cemetery, Shelby. Janet was a member of Love Valley Baptist Church. She was a Valedictorian at Waco High School and attended Gardner Webb University. She was a receptionist at Cleveland Regional Medical Center for over 20 years and co-owner of Parker and Beam Mobile Home Park. Mrs. Janet is survived by: her sons, James Parker Jr. and wife Sheron, Paul Parker Sr. and wife Carmen; daughters, Susan Ashe and husband Tommy, Nita Rohrer and husband Roland; brother, Murray Beam Jr. and wife Linda; sisters, Lenita Woodruff and husband Bob, and Vickie Duncan; grandchildren, Jennifer Ward and husband Gary Jr., Kristie Emery and husband Andrew, Jamie Greene and husband Jonathon, Kirsten Parker, Tamra Ashe, Krystal Deal and husband Casey, Megan Ashe, Paul Vincent Parker Jr., Lane Parker, and Victorya "Tory" Parker; great grandchildren, Ashton, Josh, and McKinley Ward, Riley Parker, Madison Emery, Ensley and Nataley Greene, and Jordyn Ashe; special friends, Janice Barrett and Bea Blanton. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by: her husband, James Parker Sr. and brother in law, Eric Duncan.
