James Wilson

James R. Wilson, 74, of Kings Mountain, passed peacefully at his residence and entered into the glory of heaven on August 6, 2021.

Son of the late Robert Austell Wilson and Violet Naomi Farris, and one of 16 children, James was born on October 18, 1946, in York, SC.

James devoted his life to Christ and was an active member of Love Valley Baptist Church in Kings Mountain.

He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

James had a passion for working on tractors and cars, enjoyed playing the guitar, and loved to fish.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Doris P. Wilson; sons, Jeff and wife Cindy, Greg and Ashley, Kevin and wife Tracy, Brad and Cristy; brothers, Henry and Mike Wilson; sisters, Marlene Chatham, Gale Grant, and Wanda Christenson; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Monday, August 9, 2021, at the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd., Gastonia.

A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Barry Philbeck, will be held 1:00 pm Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at Love Valley Baptist Church, 2032 Bethlehem Rd., Kings Mountain.

Interment will be in Cleveland Memorial Park.
